The
ideal setting for a golf or business retreat
Once
the home of Fairview Farm, built by Samuel Shackelford shortly
after the Revolutionary War, this carefully restored two-story
timber house stands in front of the Shenandoah Valley Golf
Club clubhouse, overlooking the golf course.
Up
to six people can be accommodated in three separate bedrooms,
each with its own fireplace. Throughout the Fairview House,
exquisite 18th century period reproduction furniture is showcased,
manufactured locally in Winchester, Virginia by the Henkel-Harris
Company.
The
gentlemen's and ladies' parlors provide an opportunity for
a relaxed gathering.
On
the lower level, a "publick room," replete with
brick floors, beamed ceiling, and large stone working fireplace
provides a forum for after golf gatherings. Equipped with
a small kitchen and informal seating, it's the perfect spot
for casual meetings and get-togethers.
In
the morning, take a leisurely complimentary breakfast on one
of two second-story balconies as you enjoy the panoramic vistas
of the Shenandoah Valley.
The
grounds and gardens surrounding Fairview House are a pleasant
setting for wedding ceremonies.
