“A fairy tale wedding!” That’s how we describe Maria and Mark’s wedding reception on January 7th 2005 at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club. Every detail about the affair was exquisite! The reception and banquet room, normally so elegantly appointed, was enhanced by your glittering Christmas decorations, which you so generously permitted us to use, creating an absolutely enchanting room!

Although we had arrived later with the wedding party, many guests expressed to us that the passed hot hors d’oeuvres were delicious. On a cold and rainy wintry night what better way to be greeted than with the beauty of sparkling lights, a crackling fire in the fireplace, the aroma of hot mulled cider and delicious hot hors d’oeuvres … those as you well know, were a very, very special blessing for us. Thank you so much.

One might expect a meal served to over 250 people to be typically “hotel food.” However, the dinner that Executive chef Maggie prepared was thoroughly delicious, pleasing to both the palate and the eye. Many of our guests commented on how delicious their meal, whether they had received the chicken or the salmon.
Thank you, also, for allowing us to serve our mother’s homemade rosettes. She is 81 and Maria is her first grandchild. What a true joy it was for her to be able to contribute in this way.

To top of the already spectacular evening, Shenandoah Valley Golf club’s huge and beautiful hardwood dance floor was perfect for our Lebanese and the English Country dancing we had planned. What a festive and joyful time! Indeed, many guests were disappointed that the dancing didn’t continue after the happy couple departed.

As a side note, you may have noticed amongst the many military uniforms, one extremely tall (6’9” to be exact) young Marine, Brandon Johnson, a dear family friend. Brandon’s commanding officer permitted him to leave his base in South Carolina that day at noon. Another friend drove from Virginia Beach to S.C. to pick him up and then they drove straight to Front Royal in time to attend the reception. Brandon’s mother conveyed how grateful he was to be able to attend the celebration of Maria and Mark’s wedding, and to dance in his dress blues just eight days before was transported to Iraq. We were so pleased that he was able to share the beauty of that night and our prayers are with Brandon as he is now serving Fallujah.

We cannot express our thanks enough for all you did to make Mark and Maria’s wedding reception so beautiful and memorable! Starting with your expert planning, the enchanting atmosphere, the professional staff and the delicious food, the hallmark o excellence was demonstrated in ever aspect.

With heartfelt appreciation and gratitude,
Donald and Elisabeth Hoffman

Dear Mr. Mallory:

This letter is to commend your entire staff of the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, and especially Mary Jane Adams and Maggie Edwards.

Our daughter, Kathleen, was married on May 3 at your facility, and we held a wedding reception for almost 200 guests. Our friends and family are still praising the food, service, accommodations, and coordination of the ceremony and celebration. Many times we heard the expression, “this is the best wedding we’ve ever attended.”

From our first visit to the golf club we knew we wanted to work with Mary Jane. Kathleen and her fiancé, Dan, were willing to move their wedding date just so they could have Mary Jane as their wedding coordinator. She helped us work within our budget, made excellent suggestions and was always available to us. She is indeed a jewel beyond price!

Now about the food- it was a culinary delight! Maggie is a wonderful chef and we can’t praise her talents enough. Not only was the food delicious, the presentation was spectacular. It went far beyond our expectations.

Please convey our most sincere thanks to Mary Jane, the wait staff, kitchen aides, office staff and bar tenders for a most enjoyable day.

Sincerely,
Jim and Barbara Fay

Dear Mary Jane,

From our first meeting on a cold February Saturday to that beautiful warm August day of Jessica’s and Gary’s wedding repetition, I was sure of one thing, Mary Jane can handle everything perfectly – and with class. You lived up to my expectations and more!

So many people said to us, “this is the best wedding reception I’ve ever attended!” or, “this is the best food I’ve ever eaten!” Comments on the room, the service and the “good vibes.” Everyone had fun and the warmth and love and joy of this special day had the special ambiance of Mary Jane Adams and the Shenandoah Valley Golf club.

Sincerely,
Art and Lee Perkins

Mary Jane, Shirley & Staff,

The McTag and Wills Family thank all of you so much for providing the beautiful setting and excellent food and accommodation for Chandra and Travis’s wedding reception. It is so nice to be able to rely on people like you to take care of everything and provide such wonderful support!

My only hope is that you are still available when Lauren (now 15) is ready to get married (in about 10 years!).

Fondly,
Judy Mctag
